SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO CHANGE IT UP!!
Let me say that again...SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO CHANGE IT UP!
Nobody ever said that your session has to be in the perfect location, have the perfect background, but that you get the quality images that you need that will help you tell stories. Not everybody is exactly hype when they see you photographing in an unfamiliar places but overall, we both had to say -- this session was entirely fun, and I was able to get out of my comfort zone with this session, and show off my creativity with the help of this beautiful model.
This was more of a personal project thatI suggested to my client and when she agreed to it, I was so excited. I told her that this was free range, and totally a fun creative project so how she comes dressed, we going to roll with it. This was to show off the concept of freedom, and power of women to embark on any room that you may walk into. It may just be fashion and posing to some but being on the other side of the lenses and behind the lenses, sometimes you don't see the power of how we can turn heads by just simply bringing all we got.
During the session, as stated above, we had some that didn't agree with the idea of us shooting in that location, and others was actually like "wow, I can't believe you guys are creating amazing work in the laundromat". But as a photographer, one of the things that you learn is that you won't always be accepted as a person or in particular spaces but you learn to tune it out, be yourself, create magic, and have fun while doing it! And not just as a photographer, or a model but as women in general. Sometimes we are not welcome in spaces, but we push through, we take control an we create space to welcome somebody that looks like us, or act like us. If we all work together, believe or not, magic can be created.
